In his talk, titled "Digital Transformation in Business Schools," Nick Barniville, Director of ESMT Berlin's EdTech Lab, and Founder of Gomera Tech, shared his view on the current state and future directions of the business of business schools. While the online programs and blended learning markets are growing for a multitude of reasons, many in-person MBA programs and open face-to-face executive education markets are shrinking worldwide. Business schools around the globe are facing difficult yet important strategic decisions to make, including but not limited to whether to "build or buy" digital capabilities, how best to "collaborate while competing", and so forth.
