Congratulations to all the 2020 Hitotsubashi ICS graduates!
Hitotsubashi ICS held its first 100% online commencement ceremony on Saturday, August 22, and it was a success by all accounts. We celebrated the achievements of the graduates of the Class of 2018 (Two-Year Program), the Class of 2019 (One-Year Program, Young Leaders Program, and Double Degree Program), the EMBA Class of 2019, and the DBA Class of 2015.

Faculty Interview: Hiroshi Ono, new director of EMBA 2020
We sat down with Professor Hiroshi Ono, the new EMBA director from September, for an in-depth interview on the “many corrections in his life trajectory” in which he turned his childhood passion for math into an engineering degree and then switched to sociology, economics, and statistics after falling in love with social sciences. Drawing on his deep learning in these diverse fields, Ono also publishes award-winning research on human behavior.

Global Network Voices Confer on Business and the SDGs
Hitotsubashi ICS, a founding member and the only member school in Japan of the Global Network for Advanced Management, launched Knowledge Week 2019 with a virtual speaker series on the “Business Action towards the SDGs” (the UN Sustainable Development Goals). The aim was to introduce students to "many cases from many places": speakers from across the Network, from four continents shared cases of intentional initiatives from business actors to advance the SDGs in their countries and regions. Hitotsubashi ICS students actively participated and exchanged views with the speakers.

Deputy Dean of Yale SOM, David Bach visits Hitotsubashi ICS
Last week, David Bach, Deputy Dean of Academic Programs at Yale SOM traveled to Tokyo and spent a day at Hitotsubashi ICS meeting MBA Program Director Yoshi Fujikawa, lunching with Professor James Kondo and the EMBA Class of 2018 and conducting an information session on Yale SOM’s MAM Program.
During his visit Deputy Dean Bach sat down with Professor Fujikawa for a short interview, in which he talked about the about the value of the Global Network for Advanced Management, a community of 30 top business schools around the globe that is committed not only to developing global talent, but also to implementing innovative pedagogical initiatives leveraging faculty and student bodies across borders.
