Joon, Win, and Yisze from Class of 2020 participated in the final round of the Yale Stock Trading Game Competition hosted by GNAM!
In this competition, over 531 students registered and 306 students from 12 GNAM partner schools participated. From Hitotsubashi ICS, 11 students participated in the regional competition held on February 3, and the above three students made it to the final round held on February 17. Only one third of the 306 participants passed to the final round.
This competition used Yale's Stock Trading Game
, which is a fun, fast and efficient tool to understand the mechanics of capital markets and stock trades.
At Hitotsubashi ICS, Professor Masa Hattori was the faculty advisor and held a kick-off meeting with prospective participants on January 6 to strategize how to win the competition until the actual event.

At Hitotsubashi ICS, we often hear from prospective students that they are not confident in their English ability and are worried about whether they can really keep up with the classes. Even though Hitotsubashi ICS is a business school located in Japan, more than 80% of the students are international students and the MBA program is instructed 100% in English.

After graduating from university, he joined a non-life insurance company in Japan. After working as a sales representative for about 9 years, he was transferred to a holding company. After working in business development for a subsidiary, he entered Hitotsubashi ICS in 2020 as a company-sponsored student.

Yoshimasa Nakamura
Yoshimasa joined the one-year MBA program back in 2014. Prior to starting his MBA at Hitotsubashi ICS, he worked at Sony for 8 years in the e-commerce field, where he was responsible for direct sales, merchandising and website management. After graduating Hitotsubashi ICS, he has been working at Sony as a Marketing Manager in charge of the digital transformation area of marketing.
